A Charleston Winery Tour with Crafted Travel always begins with a journey to the romantic Angel Oak Tree. Take advantage of the perfect photo op before you begin a beverage-driven journey through Charleston. Next, visits to Deep Water Vineyard and Low Tide Brewing offer unique wine tastings and a locally crafted pint of John’s Island brew, respectively. Finish the tour at Firefly Distillery for spirit tastings starring their iconic Sweet Tea Vodka. The fun doesn’t have to stop there. Our all new Charleston Tea Plantation & Winery Tour also features a stop at America’s only active Tea Plantation. At Charleston Tea Plantation, you’re treated to a full factory tour that takes you behind the scenes of the tea making process, with carefully kept tea bushes that stretch for dozens of acres. Once you’ve tasted their freshly brewed tea, served hot or iced, you’ll be hooked. Crafted Travel’s Charleston wine tours offer a unique taste of Charleston you won’t find anywhere else.

Deep Water Vineyard sets a romantic scene worthy of the movies, with grapevines set in perfect rows as far as the eye can see. A winery adjoins the vineyard property, where you can sample the delightful Muscadine grape varietal this region is known for, along with a few others, for five total tastings. Each label is grown and bottled right on the property, including vineyard favorites like Low Tide, High Tide, Magnolia, Lowcountry Red and Deepwater Blend. Feel free to explore the vast outstretch of the winery, punctuated by picnic tables and dreamy live oaks. If you’re lucky, you may even have the opportunity to meet and pet the adorable Baby Brahma-Dwarf Cow that wanders freely through the vines. Stop by the Gift Shop to take home a bottle of your favorite wine on the way out.

This dreamy winery visit is followed by stops at two famous Charleston venues. Low Tide Brewing on John’s Island offers delightful craft brews, and the Firefly Distillery (in a brand new location near Park Circle) boasts unique spirits that you can sample and shoot to keep the good time rolling. Your first pint at the brewery is on us, but don’t let that hold you to a one-and-done sampling. The dream team at Low Tide draws their brewing inspiration from the Charleston coastline, culture and natural resources, with a little flare thrown into each batch. They’ve partnered with local chefs and restaurateurs to produce beers that compliment the flavors of Lowcountry cuisine. At Firefly, play the role of student or judge as you tour the distillery and sample their signature Sweet Tea Vodka, along with other vodka and moonshine varieties.

If you’d like to experience a true Charleston staple, add a stop at the Charleston Tea Plantation to your tour. This destination adds a different twist to the standard Sippin’ Tour, and a chance to sample some herbal refreshment while you recharge. This unique spin on our Charleston Winery Tour is a Wine & Tea Lover’s Dream. Discover the secrets of tea making while sipping on an abundant variety of hot and cold teas crafted and brewed on-site. Outside, endless acres of tea bushes and sprawling oak trees give a new appreciation to the process and history behind the tea blends that are shipped and sold worldwide. The Plantation Gift Shop offers tins of traditional tea and flavors that include mint, raspberry and peach tea. You’ll be given the freedom to roam among the tea plants and find the perfect place for a group photo. As one of Charleston’s favorite wedding venues, The Tea Plantation has plenty of photo-worthy backdrops.
